A Brand-New Feature!

Some weeks ago, a Beervana Show listener (hi May!) requested an email sign-up feature so she could be alerted to new posts. In my languid manner, I sidled up to the idea slowly. Today, however, I’d like to announce that this feature is coming on line! At the bottom of this post (and subsequent ones), you can sign up to receive these posts in the email. Honestly, I’m not sure if you’re receive the whole post or part of it along with a link. That’s the fun of discovery!

In addition, I’ll send out a weekend digest email, either weekly or fortnightly (TBA), with links to the posts over the past period. I will probably throw in other goodies as well—archival links, maybe a Sherpa recommendation, something along those lines. Since I haven’t fired up the tech yet, I’m not exactly sure how it will go. This is a free blog, and so you get what you pay for—which in this case is an elderly writer peering through weak eyes at a computer screen containing functions he only dimly understands. (It is amusing that, 16 years into the life of the blog, my “new” feature is email.) Fun!

This is a service to readers, not a secret way to sell your data. I will only use your information to send you these emails, and will absolutely keep your info private. I assume you’ll be able to unsubscribe at any time—that’s typical with these things. Feel free to hold off until I get some bold guinea pigs who are brave enough to handle my technological foibles as we get this thing off the ground if you’re leery, however. (Hi, May!)
